Connie J.'s Story

Connie J.

Faculty member, Staff member

Employer: Colorado Technical University

Job Title: Chief Academic Officer / Provost

I'M IN AND NOW I'm using my experience as a teacher to work with students, faculty and staff at CTU - something that is not only fun, but very rewarding and motivating!

Describe your educational and professional background.

I have a Doctorate in Education with a focus in Organizational Leadership, a Master of Business Administration degree and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice degree. I'm an educational achiever and began my Master's studies in my 30's while married with children and working full time. Professionally, I have been in higher education for over 20 years in a number of different roles and was also a licensed stockbroker and probation officer at different points in my career.

How do you help motivated students work toward their goals?

I help students by working with CTU faculty to provide meaningful programs, excellent service and inspiring teaching.

What do you think are the most important aspects of achieving educational goals?

Persistence, persistence, persistence. In the words of Nike -- Just Do It! Seriously, continuing when you don't feel like it is one of the largest keys to educational success.
